A good truck, a good crew and a good packing job are your best insurance; however, accidents do happen. WeHaul.com’s track record of 1 claim in at about 20 moves is way below the industry average of 1 in every 3-5 moves. This is indication of the care and pride we take in getting our job done right. Also, we do take responsibility for our mistakes, and have settled all claims either on the spot, or within 5 business days following the move.

 

Standard Coverage

Movers, by law, are required to provide a minimum amount of free coverage. This number, typically 60 cents, refers to the amount of money you will receive per pound of damaged goods. This coverage is a bare minimum and should not be relied upon to cover you for any significant damage.

 

WeHaul.com includes standard liability coverage in the amount of Three Dollars and Fifty Cents Per Pound, Per Article at no additional charge. Most other companies include only Sixty Cents Per Pound, Per Article. We guarantee to settle your claims in this amount up to Five Thousand Dollars. Our basic standard coverage, which is included with your move, carries a Five Hundred Dollar Deductible which is your responsibility.

Valuation

Valuation is not insurance. Valuation offered by WeHaul.com is a tariff level of carrier liability based on the Fair Market Value (FMV) of your goods. With FMV protection, you decide the value of your goods. WeHau.com is liable for your "declared value". If an item breaks or is stolen, WeHaul.com is liable for the declared FMV, plain and simple. For example, if your computer is mishandled and breaks, FMV coverage means that you receive a cash settlement for the declared FMV. If all your items are lost or stolen, we will rely on the pre-determined "lump sum" worth of your articles stated previously in the agreement.

Valuation coverage only covers your goods for damage or loss due to negligence on the part of our crew. IT DOES NOT cover any loss or damage due to Acts of God, (high winds, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes) riots, strikes, civil commotion, etc. All claims are settled by employees of WeHaul.com.

NOTE:

If you discover broken or missing items on the day of delivery, while the movers are still there, you should do the following:

 

Leave any broken items in their original packaging;

Create a list of damages and losses with the onsite delivery person in charge (usually, the driver);

File the list with both signatures with your driver; and

Call us the next day to make sure the driver filed your claim.
